As "panda" of the bird world, the black-necked crane is the only crane living on the plateau. They seek mates through singing and dancing, which is extremely romantic. It is said that a black-necked crane has only one mate in its lifetime, hence they are also known as the "bird of fidelity." Currently, a large number of black-necked cranes have arrived in Lhundrup County of southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region to spend winter. The excellent ecological environment and suitable climate condition make Lhundrup an ideal choice.
Every year, 2,000 more black-necked cranes spend winter in Lhundrup , and it also inhabits many national first and second-class protected wild animals such as the white-lipped deer, snow leopard, brown bear.
